Great staff couldn't do enough for you

Great location, easy to locate with access to local car park facilities.

We were planning to be in another location in Yorkshire but at the last minute changed deciding to visit York again, it had been a while. This hotel is an ideal location for touring York. It is located on the edge of the old city across the street from the York Castle Museum (an excellent museum by the way) with everything from there to the Minster easily walkable. Not far from the hotel in the old city is wonderful friendly bar, The Red Lion, that has been a bar since the 13th Century, history and beer to boot. The meals at the hotel were very good and the head barman has an excellent knowledge of single malt scotch whisky, have him choose one for you to compliment your taste. This is definitely where I'll stay my next trip to York.

Great location, very central to city centre. Staff friendly and helpful. , offered plenty of recommendations for things to do with the kids. Bathroom equipped with shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, hand soap, and body lotion. Pump wasn't working on shower gel and staff fixed it straight away. We were very lucky and had great view of the castle.

The main entrance was directly opposite Clifford's Tower, providing a beautiful view during breakfast. The breakfast itself was amazing, with countless options, a delicious hot food counter, and the staff was very polite and friendly. Room 208 was the perfect size for our family of four. We also appreciated having a small fridge in the room, which we requested during the booking process. Excellent wifi.
